Red Sardonyx is a beautifully banded or striped gemstone layered with colors of red, orange, brown, white, cream or even clear.

Sardonyx is the most valuable gemstone of the chalcedony family.  It is a mixture of Onyx and Sard, a type of Orange Carnelian, and this is where it gets its name.

Sardonyx is said to be a stone of strength and protection.  It is associated with bringing harmony, luck and good fortune into one’s life.  It is also used as a healing stone, such as to boost the immune system, as well as motivate and boost one’s mood.

Red Sardonyx is believed to stimulate the healing of grief and old sorrows.
